Organizational Overview:
Faith in Action Nevada is a multi-faith, multi-racial grassroots organization building power to disrupt systems of oppression and advance racial, economic, and environmental justice. We equip community leaders, especially those from historically excluded communities, to organize for policy change, climate resilience, and economic transformation. Rooted in faith and justice, we believe those most impacted must lead the change.
Internship Summary:
This internship is a powerful opportunity for emerging leaders to learn community organizing while contributing to meaningful campaigns across Nevada. Interns will support efforts that center climate justice, clean energy, housing, and voter engagement—with a special focus on partnering with congregations and low-income communities to create resiliency centers that include solar energy solutions and clean energy education.
You’ll gain hands-on skills in relationship-building, public leadership, climate justice organizing, and faith-based engagement—all while being supported by a values-driven team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in training and development in the fundamentals of community organizing.
- Build relationships with faith leaders, low-income residents, and community partners through 1-on-1s and small group meetings.
- Support non-partisan voter outreach and civic engagement work during the 2025 election season.
- Engage in climate justice work by organizing faith communities and neighborhoods to:
- Establish resiliency centers to provide relief from extreme heat and other climate impacts.
- Deliver clean energy education around the benefits of solar power.
- Assist in organizing solar installation and integration projects in collaboration with partners. - Help coordinate and participate in public meetings, events, and campaign actions.
- Contribute to communications work, including storytelling, social media, and community narratives.
- Document progress, challenges, and successes through weekly check-ins and reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Passionate about climate, racial, and economic justice.
- Eager to learn organizing, clean energy, and leadership skills.
- Comfortable working with diverse communities and faith traditions.
- Reliable and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills.
- Willing to learn, receive feedback, and grow in community.
- Interested in solar energy, environmental justice, or sustainable infrastructure.
- Willing to work occasional evenings or weekends.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
Job Details:
Position Type: Part-time, Temporary
Compensation: $25/hour
Hours: Up to 20 hours/week
Location: Las Vegas, NV – In-person
Term: July 2025 – December 2025
