Administrative Assistant for Optometry Office (Full-Time): 

Our administrative assistant’s work schedule will be: 

Monday - Thursday: 10:00am - 7:00pm with a one-hour lunch break from 2:00pm - 3:00pm. 

Friday: 9:00am – 6:00pm with a one-hour lunch break from 1:00pm-2:00pm. 

The ideal candidate has 1 year of experience in medical front office or similar reception/admin assistant experience. Our ideal admin assistant is interested in becoming knowledgeable about our specialized area of practice. Knowledge of optometry/vision therapy and Crystal PM EMR is a plus but is not required. We are looking for someone with initiative who learns quickly and can take ownership of the role.

Purpose of the Admin assistant: 

The purpose of this position is to assist in the business office, provide support to the patients, vision therapists and front desk staff. This person works closely with the office manager to handle the day-to-day duties of the business office, including answering phones and routing calls, scheduling appointments, entering billing, collecting and posting payments, scanning/filing medical records, faxing and other general duties as assigned. There is opportunity for cross-training in other areas of the office to help with overflow, but the business office is the primary focus 

Job Duties: 

This position requires a high degree of organization, attention to detail, performance under pressure and excellent grammar/spelling. The candidate must be extremely detail-oriented, meticulous, and able to communicate professionally both orally and in writing. 

· Answer phones, monitor and answer patient text messages/emails 

· Schedule appointments, maintain cancellation list to keep clinician schedule filled 

· Process patient paperwork, records 

· Perform data entry, charge entry, collect and post payments 

· Scan and file medical records 

· Process incoming/outgoing records requests 

· Perform admin/general duties as assigned

Compensation and Benefits: 

· This is a full-time position 

· Hourly wages start at $16-$21 per hour based on experience. Previous admin assistant will be taken into salary consideration. Employees may also qualify for monthly production-based bonuses and periodic salary increases based on performance.
