Business Development Manager

As we continue to expand, we're seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Manager to join our team.

Reporting to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, the Business Development Manager will lead global growth efforts. This role focuses on identifying and securing new opportunities for electric motors, starter generators, and related technologies within our current and future aerospace and defense customers.

Position Duties

Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to: 

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and defense contractors globally
  • Develop strategic relationships with aerospace and defense industry stakeholders
  • Work closely with engineering teams to align technical solutions with customer requirements
  • Lead customer engagements, proposal development, contract negotiations, and bid strategies
  • Analyze market trends and competitor offerings in the electric propulsion segment
  • Represent the company during customer visits as well as global aerospace and defense exhibitions and industry events
  • Monitor and report on KPIs and growth targets
  • Other Duties as assigned by Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Skills: 

Knowledge:

Thorough knowledge Aerospace Environment, Skurka products and administrative operations.  Must understand internal functions relating to all company departments.  Sales Engineer must have a strong technical and business background.

Skills / Aptitudes:

Effective oral and written communication skills; organizational skills and ability to motivate and task Representatives. Must have sensitivity in dealing with both internal and external customers. Must be computer proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. 

Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.  Aviation related background is preferred.  At least two years of experience in business development in aerospace/defense, ideally in propulsion, power systems, or electrical components. Deep understanding of electric motor and generator technologies and their aerospace applications is a plus.

International Trade Compliance Requirements

This position requires the use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects. The employee frequently is required to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch and reach with hands and arms, climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.  Travel required to support customers.

This position is considered an exempt position for the purpose of federal wage-hour law, which means that you will not be eligible for overtime pay for hours actually worked in excess of 8 hours a day or 40 hours in a given week
