OVERVIEW
The Photo/Video Interns operate under the direction of the Digital Media Manager. As a Photo/Video Intern at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, you will assist in creating and editing visual content for our website, social media, and marketing. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in visual media. You will work closely with industry professionals and contribute to exciting projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, are not limited to the following:
- Assist in planning and shooting photo and video content for various projects
- Edit and enhance photos and videos using software such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
- Organize and manage digital assets, ensuring proper meta data tagging and storage
- Collaborate with the marketing and creative teams to align visuals with project goals
- Attend and support photo/video shoots, including setup, lighting, and equipment handling
- Assist in brainstorming and developing new content ideas
- Additional tasks as assigned
- Shorter-term 2nd photographer will be responsible for culling through captured content and organizing.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Proficiency in photo and video editing software (Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of visual composition, lighting, and color theory.
- Advanced knowledge of camera equipment and video production techniques.
- Creative thinking with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Relevant Coursework: Pursuing or having completed coursework in photography, videography, media production, film studies, digital media, or a related field is often beneficial.
- Degree: In pursuit of or a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Media Arts, Film Production) can be advantageous.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing your best work in photography and videography. This is crucial as it demonstrates your skills and style.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with cameras, editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- During the 2026 Show from February 12 – March 1, 2026, you will be required to work daily, including all weekends as well as evenings and night until show concluded.
- From October to show internship, you will be expected in office for 3-4 days a week, schedule to be determined once hired.
- Will be exposed to animals, dust, and weather elements. Large amounts of walking can be required when covering grounds.
- Must be able to lift and/or carry 30 pounds; capable of standing for one hour or more

- We are currently looking for two interns for this position. (Both positions will require some weekends for event coverage.)
