Real Estate Processor

The Real Estate Processor is responsible for supporting the mortgage lending team by processing real estate loan applications accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with credit union policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements. This entry-level role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in mortgage lending and real estate finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Have a solid understanding of credit union policies, investor guidelines, NCUA rules and regulations, and any other laws affecting mortgage lending.
  • Review loan applications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare and issue initial disclosures to borrowers within the regulated time frame.
  • Order services on each loan to ensure closing dates are met. Services include but are not limited to ordering title commitments, appraisals, and flood certificates.
  • Within the regulated time frame, process all verification of employment for each applicant prior to closing.
  • Work directly with Real Estate Originators, Loan Coordinators, Processors II and III, Underwriters and Closers to ensure a timely, accurate, and efficient process.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all third-party vendors regarding turn times and their service areas. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • A minimum of one (1) year relevant work experience in an office, financial institution, or customer service environment required. 
  • A minimum of one (1) year mortgage lending experience preferred. 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and loan origination system preferred. 

Availability

  • This position is 40- hours a week, Monday through Friday.
  • Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST
  • Will require some flexibility within these hours, as needed.

Work Environment

  • The Real Estate Processor position is located at Altra’s Operations Center in Onalaska, WI
  • However, work from home / remote opportunities can be considered for those candidates who live within Altra’s approved remote states: CO, FL, GA, IA, MI, MN, NJ, NC, TN, TX, and WI.

Pay and Benefits

  • Competitive starting rate of $18.00+ per hour
  • When bilingual in Spanish or Hmong, receive a $1.00 per hour pay premium after completing and passing the language exam.
