Accounting Intern

Amesi & Associates is a women-owned accounting and business consulting firm dedicated to supporting small businesses and creative entrepreneurs. We’re looking for a motivated Accounting Intern in the Los Angeles Area (or general southern Los Angeles area) to gain hands-on experience in bookkeeping and day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for a current student or recent graduate eager to build practical skills in a professional environment while contributing to real client projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Accounting Support: Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general bookkeeping tasks.
  • Reconciliations: Help with monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and general ledger entries.
  • Financial Reporting: Support preparation of financial statements and assist with month-end closing procedures.
  • Documentation: Maintain and organize financial records, invoices, and supporting documentation.
  • Vendor & Expense Management: Process invoices and expenses and assist with vendor communications.
  • Compliance & Audits: Provide support during audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Special Projects: Participate in projects to improve efficiency, reporting processes, and financial analysis.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles (GAAP preferred).
  • Exposure to accounting software—QuickBooks experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical thinking.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • A team player with a proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Must be a LA County Resident we will verify!
