Job Title: IT Specialist
Reports to: Campus Principal
Location: In-Person, CASLV School Campus – Las Vegas, NV; Henderson, NV
Position Type: Full-Time, 12-Month (School Year)
Position Summary:
The IT Specialist supports the technology infrastructure and day-to-day IT operations of the charter school. This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network systems. The IT Specialist ensures reliable access to technology tools for students, staff, and administration, and provides timely technical support to minimize downtime and enhance learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems, printers, interactive whiteboards, and other hardware.
- Support and maintain software applications, user accounts, and system updates.
- Respond to help desk requests and provide timely technical support to faculty, staff, and students.
- Maintain school network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, servers, switches, and firewall systems.
- Assist with managing and deploying Chromebooks, tablets, and mobile devices.
- Maintain technology inventory and assist with asset tagging and tracking.
- Implement and support cybersecurity protocols to protect school data.
- Collaborate with the Director of Technology on long-term tech planning and upgrades.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service in all interactions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in IT support, preferably in an educational or public sector environment.
- Familiarity with Windows, macOS, and Chrome OS environments.
- Knowledge of networking concepts, hardware repair, and systems administration.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced school environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and set up hardware as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods working on a computer and walking across campus.
Ability to lift and carry IT equipment up to 50 lbs.
Frequent bending, crawling under desks, and climbing ladders.
Work Environment:
This is a full-time, in-person, 12-month position.
Work is performed in office, classroom, and network/server room settings.
