Position Overview
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Project Management team in planning, coordinating, and executing glazing projects from start to finish. This hands-on role bridges field and office operations and is ideal for candidates with at least one year of project engineering or coordination experience who are ready to take the next step into project leadership.
The APM should be highly organized, tech-savvy, and confident communicating across teams from field supervisors to general contractors.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to advance into a Project Manager role within 1–2 years, based on performance and proven project-management ability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with scheduling, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Coordinate with general contractors, field supervisors, vendors, and internal teams to meet timelines and budgets.
- Track materials, deliveries, and fabrication schedules.
- Maintain and update project documentation and logs.
- Produce shop drawings and assist with takeoffs.
- Visit project job sites to verify field conditions, monitor installation progress, document project status, and assist with punch lists and close-out activities.
- Support safety and quality-control standards.
- Provide administrative and operational support to ensure smooth project execution.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in construction project coordination or management (glazing systems preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, or related field required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and construction software (Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Glazier Studio, or PartnerPak a plus).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Skilled in maintaining organized digital project files.
