Information Technology Intern
EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY:
The Superior Court of California, County of San Joaquin, is now accepting applications for a part-time Information Technology (IT) Intern. This position will work up to 28 hours per week performing entry-level professional duties in support of the Information Technology Department.
The IT Intern, reporting to the Information Systems Analyst Supervisor, will perform entry-level duties such as handling helpdesk tickets, diagnosing and resolving hardware/software problems for end users, interacting with staff to address their technical needs, and installing/configuring computers, applications, and related equipment to maintain a productive work environment.
The role focuses on performing entry-level IT support tasks with close supervision. Key activities include helping onboard new hires, provisioning Microsoft 365 accounts, issuing and configuring new phones for staff, and diagnosing/resolving everyday user problems, such as inability to print or connect to the network (on-site or via VPN).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current enrollment with at least 9 semester units or its equivalent in an accredited educational institution leading to a program certificate, associate’s, bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
- The IT Intern must have some education in programming, database management and technologies like Windows Servers, Linux and Cisco Networking.
- IT Interns must have the ability to take direction well and be motivated self-starters; be open and excited to learn; have good communication skills; be customer service oriented; and learn techniques to best serve clients.
