Riverside Education Centers (REC) is a private, non-profit corporation 501(c)(3) that has been serving the community since 2006 providing Mesa County students with high-quality academic and extracurricular experiences during out-of-school time to foster individual growth and to create community within a safe, diverse, equitable, inclusive environment.

 

Job Summary

The Finance Manager is responsible for all aspects of financial management of the organization with a strong understanding of Quickbooks.  

 

Physical demands associated with this position may include: sitting, standing, walking, alternative sitting or standing at will, lifting or carrying up to 25lbs, pushing/pulling, stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, and or climbing. 


 

Responsibilities:

  • Input and update overall and  class budgets
  • Build, input, and manage annual budget
  • Manage receipts through Hubdoc and post into Quickbooks.
  • Post all expenses and charges accurately against class and customers
  • Grant invoicing, tracking, and general management 
  • Prepare documents for REC Board Finance Committee meetings monthly
  • Quickbooks data entry and reporting.
  • Budget oversight and tracking 
  • Communicate important findings from the financials and budgets with the Finance Committee, Operations Director, Executive Director, Program Directors, and/or Site Managers
  • Ensure timely payment of bills including payroll liabilities
  • Create and distribute reports.
  • Maintain files and documentation in accordance with needs of organization and best practices
  • Process both bi-weekly and monthly payroll
  • Maintain financial audit compliance and internal controls & lead annual audit.
  • File paperwork and payment of tax and other legal financial obligations including quarterly and annual reporting
  • Manage restricted donations and grants
  • Other duties as assigned.  


 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks 
  • Proficiency in Google WorkSpace
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact with people of all ages and backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and assignments, often with competing deadlines
  • Bilingual skills beneficial, but not mandatory


 

Position Details

  • This is a full time salaried, exempt position
  • Salary based on experience $55,000-$65,000
  • Health insurance or $600 Monthly Health Stipend
  • $35/month Phone Stipend
  • Aflac (optional)
  • Colorado Secure Savings Program (optional)
  • FAMLI 
  • Accrued 2 weeks PTO per year
  • Ten (10)  paid holidays 
  • One week (5 days) scheduled closure  in December
  • One week (5 days) scheduled closure  in July
  • Pay date is once a month on the last day of the month
