Director of Human Resources
DUTIES
A Director of Human Resources directs, develops, implements and manages the human resources activities of the Department of Water and Power including a variety of support programs, policies, procedures, and systems which ensure compliance with local, State, and Federal laws; applies sound supervisory standards and techniques in building and maintaining an effective work group; and fulfills equal employment opportunity responsibilities.
REQUIREMENT(S)/MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)
- Two years of full-time paid professional experience with the City of Los Angeles as a Utility Administrator III or in a position at that level, which provides experience in personnel administration or labor relations; or
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a closely related field and four years of full-time paid professional experience in a senior-level human resources position which must include experience in two or more of the following areas: Change Management, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Relations, Employment Law, Industrial Design, Performance Management, Talent Acquisition; or
- Eight years of full-time paid professional experience in a senior-level human resources position which must include experience in two or more of the following areas: Change Management, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Relations, Employment Law, Industrial Design, Performance Management, Talent Acquisition.
