DESCRIPTION
Answers and logs problem calls in a fast-paced IT support center environment. Provides solid first-line customer support in the effective resolution of computer problems. Analyzes and diagnoses problems related to personal computers, printers, laptops, servers, and other network equipment. Works under guidance of mentor and/or supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities for this position include:
• Providing first-level computer support for legislative clients.
• Logging incoming telephone calls into the Heat call tracking system.
• Answering and logging incoming e-mail requests for computer support.
• Working on special projects as needed and meeting all applicable deadlines.
• May be required to assist in the standardization and documentation of solutions provided to clients.
• May be required to grant access to custom-developed legislative applications based on policy.
• May refer calls to second-level technicians and HUB referral coordinators.
• Maintaining and improving technical and customer-service skills.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
• May be required to be on call 24 hours a day.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications for this position include:
Experience and Education
• Experience using personal computers.
• Experience in a high-volume call center or IT support center
environment preferred.
• Experience using Windows operating systems and software preferred.
• Experience in customer service.
• Experience in writing documentation desirable.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of Information Systems fundamentals.
• Knowledge of the legislative process.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Skill in oral and written communication.
• Skill in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and analyzing computer problems.
• Ability to learn a broad spectrum of applications.
• Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of material and information.
• Ability to work overtime and to have a flexible schedule.
• Ability to work as a member of a team.
• Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
