JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Design Technology Intern. In this role, you will work closely with experienced Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and other personnel on different type of software and technology that is related to the design and construction processes. Additionally, we are seeking those who configure, support, and evaluate technology. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and become more than a "user" of technology!
Responsibilities in this role may include:
- Assist in providing technical assistance to staff in the design of treatment plants, sewers, pumping plants, and solid waste facilities.
- Provides assistance in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of software and technology.
- Participates in meetings with engineers and project stakeholders.
- Assists in evaluating software technology and reporting malfunctions, errors, and/or bugs.
- Performs software installations and updates of programs.
- Assists in monitoring activities associate with system enhancements and new systems development efforts to ensure they are accessible to people that use assistive technology.
- Assists in the preparation of technical documents, reports and presentations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Eligibility:
To be eligible, you must
1.) maintain student status through summer or fall enrollment at an accredited college or university in a program with an emphasis in Data Science, or other relevant field;
2.) have a strong working knowledge of computers;
3.) be available to work full time for at least twelve weeks during normal business hours in the summer;
4.) have a minimum GPA of 3.0; and
5.) possess a valid California Class C Driver's License (or an equivalent DL issued by a state or territory within the United States).

The selection process will begin with a review of applications to ensure candidates meet the minimum qualifications. The most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the selection process.
Interviews are expected to begin before the end of April, with placement by May.
All recommended candidates must successfully complete a background process, which includes submitting official transcripts, completing a conviction questionnaire, review of DMV records, and a pre-employment drug screening.
