Position: Coding Instructor
Age Group: Elementary Students (K–5 / K–6 depending on site)
Pay Rate: $35–$40/hr (depending on experience)
About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated and engaging Instructor to lead our After-School Coding Program for elementary students. This program introduces students to foundational coding concepts through fun, interactive, and project-based learning using beginner-friendly tools and platforms.
You’ll help students build problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and creativity through hands-on coding activities designed for young learners.
Responsibilities
- Teach beginner-friendly coding concepts and activities
- Guide students through interactive, project-based learning tasks
- Support students in building simple games, animations, or digital projects
- Break down coding concepts in an age-appropriate and engaging way
- Manage classroom engagement in a structured after-school setting
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues in tools or student projects
- Collaborate with site coordinators and program staff
- Provide consistent communication and session updates to the program team
Requirements
- Experience working with elementary-aged children (required)
- Comfortable with beginner coding tools (Scratch, block coding, etc.)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Must maintain clear, timely, and professional communication with the team
- Required to submit brief after-class updates/reports for each session
- Reliable, organized, and proactive teaching style
- Patient, energetic, and engaging approach with kids
- Availability for Fall 2026 after-school schedule
- Background in coding, computer science, or STEM education is a plus
