Closing Coordinator

D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Closing Coordinator for its DFW Central Division located in Richardson, TX. The right candidate will administer all aspects of contract and closing duties, including preparing and maintaining closing packages, communicating daily with lenders and home buyers, and filing and reviewing closing disclosures.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare and maintain closing packages/builder docs
  • Review HUD/CD to ensure information and data accuracy
  • Obtain expected closing dates from construction & sales management for all contracts
  • Communicate/follow-up with lenders, title, sales team and home buyers to ensure timely closings
  • File original closing disclosures, plans, lender letters, etc., and review them prior to closing
  • Manage daily closing list (report)
  • Review closing paperwork and contracts
  • Ensure earnest and option money is collected timely and recorded accurately
  • Coordinate with mortgage and title companies, attorney offices to set home buyer closing appointments.
  • Manage cancellations and related refunds and/or retainage
  • Supply all closing documentation including final surveys, soil treatments, contracts, certificates of occupancy as requested.
  • Update estimated and actual closing dates and title appointment times in the Homebuilders software system and Sales Report software as information is provided
  • Must consistently monitor email requests and be responsive to emails for seller approvals and seller signatures, etc....
  • Prepare appraisals requests
  • Track contingencies and certificate of occupancy receipt for home closing purposes
  • Work with various lenders on requests for home appraisals
  • Pull comparable sales to send to send for appraisal
  • Prepare closing sales voucher entry and send to corporate closings team
  • File all closing documents in the lot file
  • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ability to work full time in the Division office and overtime as needed during heavy volume times of the month

 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Three to six months of related experience and/or training
  • Provide attention to detail and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Possess strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school a plus
  • JD Edwards experience a plus
