Project Management Facilitated Internship

PNM Resources’ Business Technology Department (BTS) is responsible for providing project management support of technology projects for stakeholders across the organization. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, creative Project Manager intern to join our team in helping us achieve our goals. You will play an integral role in ensuring that technology projects are successfully completed by providing administrative support to our IT Project Managers. As a Project Manager intern, you will collaborate with our teams in all stages of the project management lifecycle. This internship will help you acquire highly desired project management skills and provide you with knowledge of how to effectively manage projects and people. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in project management and should be prepared to enter any work environment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Support IT Project Managers as they work with senior management to define, coordinate, and manage project requirements to ensure labor and material resources are deployed for timeliness, efficiency, and success of project delivery
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of various types of project artifacts, such as (but not limited to): project charters, project schedules, project spend plans, Capital Approval Development Plans (CDAPs), status reports, risk and issue logs, presentations to the governing board, etc.
  • Assist with document management and creation/modification of project SharePoint sites
  • Assist with project meetings

Work Hours & Benefits
Flexible hours are available within the work week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Internship opportunities are available throughout the summer and fall semesters. You will be working primarily with an assigned Mentor and will benefit from a 1:1 mentor to mentee/intern ratio.

Education, Experience, and Job Requirements:
  • Minimum Education and Experience: pursuit or earned an Associate Degree in a related field. No related experience is required.
  • Must sign a Non–Disclosure Agreement (NDA)
  • Must submit to and pass a criminal Background Check
  • Must submit to and pass a Drug and Alcohol test

Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this job, regularly sit up to 2/3 of the time and talk and listen for extended periods.
 
Work Environment:
  • Office environment
