Internship Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic marketing intern to join our Customer Energy Solutions department and provide creative ideas to help achieve the goals of the newly created Transportation Electrification Program (TEP). You will have administrative duties in developing and implementing marketing strategies, content, and collateral to increase the adoption rate of electric vehicles (EVs). As a TEP Marketing intern, you will collaborate with our Transportation Electrification team, multiple departments within PNM, as well as our stakeholder network in the rollout of the TEP marketing campaign. Your insightful contribution will help develop, expand, and maintain our customer engagement strategy to transform transportation in New Mexico to an electrified future. This internship will help you acquire marketing skills and provide you with knowledge of the transportation sector, EVs, customer and stakeholder engagement, and budgeting and implementing a marketing campaign. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in both the utility industry as well as marketing and should be prepared to enter any work environment.
Intern Job Responsibilities:
- Understand and analyze the EV adoption rate globally, nationally, and locally within the PNM service area, and inform the team of trends and industry drivers.
- Coordinate with our Customer Insights team to understand customer segmentation and what information is valuable to PNM customers
- Preparing marketing proposals and presentations based on company needs
- Work within the approved TEP budget to create a marketing campaign plan and launch initial outreach to coincide with the program timeline
- Creating graphic representations of data and translating complex research into easily readable content for stakeholders and other departments
- May require direct contact with customers, focus groups, or other stakeholders to inform current and future marketing plans
- Monitoring and managing the company's social media platforms, adjusting outreach tactics as needed
Work Hours & Benefits
Flexible hours are available within the work week of Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Internship opportunities are available throughout the summer and fall semesters. You will be working primarily with an assigned Mentor and will benefit from a 1:1 mentor to mentee/intern ratio.

Education, Experience, and Job Requirements:
- Enrolled in a university degree program with a focus on marketing and customer outreach. (Bachelor’s or Master’s level)
- Must sign a Non–Disclosure Agreement (NDA)
- Must pass a criminal Background Check
- Must pass a Drug and Alcohol test
