Engineering Facilitated Internship
Internship Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic engineering intern to join our Transmission Engineering, Distribution Engineering, or Generation Engineering department and provide creative ideas to help achieve our goals. You will have administrative duties in developing and implementing engineering solutions on modernizing the electric grid. As an Engineering intern, you will collaborate with our Transmission, Distribution and Generation teams in all developing real engineering solutions. Your insightful contribution will help develop, expand and maintain our path to carbon free by 2040. This internship will help you acquire practical engineering skills and provide you with knowledge of various technical strategies. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in engineering and should be prepared to enter any fast-paced work environment.
Intern Job Responsibilities (examples):
- Distribution or Transmission modeling
- Transmission, Substation, or Distribution design
- Equipment monitoring and prediction
- Protection design and evaluation
- Generation prediction and analytics
- System standard development and review
- Asset performance
- Assistant project management
- Field site visit and oversight
- Design and oversee component replacement and upgrades
Work Hours & Benefits
Flexible hours are available within the work week of Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Internship opportunities are available throughout the summer and fall semesters. You will be working primarily with an assigned Mentor and will benefit from a 1:1 mentor to mentee/intern ratio.

Education, Experience, and Job Requirements:
- Enrolled in 4 year engineering BS program or Engineering master program
- Must sign a Non –Disclosure Agreement (NDA)
- Must have a Background Check
- Must have a Drug and Alcohol test
