Position: Applications Engineer (Sales and Marketing)

DiCon Fiberoptics, Inc. is a well-recognized photonics technology company based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Over the past three decades, the company has developed many patented technology platforms for optical communications, test measurement, and aerospace. Utilizing these in-house core technology platforms, DiCon continues to develop and manufacture world-class products for commercial, industrial, and government customers. The company has strong vertically integrated capabilities, allowing it to respond rapidly to changing customer needs and emerging new market opportunities such as quantum computing and artificial intelligence.

Job Description & Responsibilities

 

  • Work with our Sales and Marketing team to understand market requirements, and help formulate new product concepts and applications.
  • Support sales teams and interact directly with customers to define product specifications and resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in new product development, product improvement efforts, and trouble shooting, as a link between DiCon and the customer.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • BSEE minimum, MSEE preferred, in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • A strong background in optics is preferred.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-moving industry environment, and be able to accomplish multiple assignments and tasks under deadline pressure.
  • Must be able to work independently, and in a small group environment.
  • Must have excellent people skills. Experience in working directly with customers is a strong plus.
  • New graduates are welcome to apply, but prior experience in the optical communications industry is preferred.
