Junior IT Business Analyst

Job Description:

Improve Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Fulltime Junior IT Business Analyst. This is an entry-level role focused on supporting the alignment of IT capabilities with business needs. This position involves collaboration with internal teams to capture and articulate requirements, contribute to the development and implementation of IT strategies, and assist in the configuration and maintenance of key business systems. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, eager to learn and contribute to process improvements, and interested in developing skills in system configuration and cybersecurity. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic IT environment and to play a part in enhancing operational efficiency and security across the company.

The Junior IT Business Analyst works in alignment with the Innovations team, consisting of the VP of Innovations, IT Systems & Security Manager, and Technology Specialist.

This position will be based in our Albuquerque, New Mexico office. Once this position has completed training and onboarding, there will be ability to work remote at times.

This role will be exposed to a variety of professional learning opportunities. The main task this Data Analyst will be focused on is partnering with the IT Systems & Security Manager on a continuous improvement project in Microsoft Suite (Teams, Dynamics). A successful Junior IT Business Analyst will have gained proven experience in data extraction and analysis, as well as a continuous mindset understanding and strength.

Key Responsibilities:

· IT Strategy Support:

o Assist in the collaboration with the IT Systems and Security Manager and other stakeholders to support IT strategy and systems roadmap development.

o Help coordinate communication and projects with outsource partners providing IT infrastructure support.

o Identify opportunities to reduce manual work, resolve recurring issues, and/or improve system functionality to deliver cost and/or operational improvements.

· Requirements Gathering and Process Improvement:

o Support senior team members in identifying business requirements for IT projects.

o Closely collaborate and build effective relationships with team and business partners to understand the data and related processes

o Contribute to the documentation and improvement of internal and external processes.

o Assist in the evaluation and adoption of new systems and tools to enhance operational efficiency.

o Synthesize and leverage data-sets based on applied modeling and analysis of data sources with process knowledge of all the key processes in supply chain, particularly around planning, distribution and logistics and its interdependencies

o Present results to management and business partners to support high-impact business value decisions

· Agile Development Support:

o Help in developing user stories and managing the requirements backlog under the guidance of more experienced team members.

o Support the prioritization of development tasks to align with business and IT strategic goals.

· System Configuration & Development:

o Assist in configuring, customizing, and maintaining business systems like Dynamics, Teams, SharePoint, etc.

o Update Implementation: Enacting updates in Microsoft Dynamics based on the analyzed trends. This may involve modifying existing records, creating new entries, or adjusting system configurations.

o Participate in collaboration with technical teams to implement and test system enhancements.

o Contribute to system testing and regular maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and security.

· Deskside Support:

o Provide timely deskside support to end-users, resolving technical issues

o Document and track user requests, offering solutions and escalating complex issues to senior IT staff as necessary.

o Troubleshoot and resolve Dynamics and related system issues.

· Training & Adoption:

o Support the development and maintenance of training content for business systems and processes.

o Assist in the rollout of training programs to ensure company-wide adoption of new processes and systems.

o Participate in onboarding and ongoing training efforts, gathering feedback to improve training effectiveness.

· Cyber Security Collaboration:

o Support cybersecurity initiatives and the development of security awareness training under the guidance of the IT Systems and Security Manager.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

· Bachelor degree in applicable field OR Bachelor/Associate degree with applicable career experience

· Practical experience gained through labs, personal projects, IT Volunteering, employment, or participation in cybersecurity-related competitions

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to learn and collaborate across teams.

· Basic understanding of agile methodologies and an interest in project management and system development.

· Familiarity with business process improvement concepts and a keen interest in technology and system configuration.

· Technical curiosity and a desire to develop skills in system configuration, customization, and cybersecurity.

· A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to engage in continuous learning and development.

· Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)

· Entry-level understanding of cybersecurity principles and an eagerness to contribute to security initiatives.

· Be passionate and maintain a pragmatic approach to all data conclusions and solutions in large datasets

· Clean driving record with proof of insurance and valid driver’s license

Compensation Structure:

· Competitive Base Salary ($42,000-$49,000)

· Performance based incentive pay and participation in the employee company bonus

· Participation in the Employee Stock Ownership program (ESOP) and 401K company match
