Financial and Operations Analyst

Location: This is a Hybrid position in Palo Alto, Ca or Arlington, VA with the expectation of being in the office two to three days per week.

 

BMNT is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial and Operations Analyst to join our growing team.

The Financial and Operations Analyst role provides critical support to the many facets of day-to-day business as well as supporting the company’s long-term growth objectives. The Analyst will work with client finance and operations teams to resolve issues as well as BMNT program teams to ensure successful delivery of services. A high performing analyst will approach every task with an inquisitive mind and a thirst for knowledge, seeking opportunities for mentorship and learning while keeping a keen eye out for actionable trends.

BMNT is a specialized consultancy that helps the government build and run innovation programs. BMNT was founded in Silicon Valley and brings startup and product design methodologies to government problems. We don’t do innovation theater – we’re a team of expert practitioners in Lean Innovation and Human-Centered Design who apply these skills to hack bureaucracy and deploy tangible solutions.

 

What You Will Be Doing (Responsibilities):

  • Facilitating accounts payable, accounts receivable, general bookkeeping, and other operations processes.
  • Conducting financial analysis (variance analysis, trend analysis, etc.) to support strategic decision making.
  • Developing budgets and financial models to support forecasting, performance tracking, and optimization.
  • Maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge of financial instruments, market conditions, and trends.
  • Identifying and proposing changes to existing workflows and processes to drive improvement / efficiency.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with other departments to gather data and support delivery of services.
  • Ensuring financial and operational compliance using internal policies and procedures.
  • Supporting preparation of executive level reports and presentations.
  • Conducting market research to support financial modeling.
  • Reconciling financial accounts.

What We Are Looking For (Qualifications):

  • BA/BS degree required (Accounting/Finance/Economics/Statistics preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years of business finance and operations or other relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and data gathering skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Fluent with Excel and/or Google Sheets formulas and functions.
  • Proficient in other Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite products.
  • Experience with PowerBI and Microsoft Business Central is a plus.
  • US Citizenship.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  Salary range is $67,250 - $90,000.
