About Business Services at the SJCOE

San Joaquin County Office of Education Business Services provides a host of services to County Office programs, local school districts, and others to ensure responsible fiscal management of public funds. Services range from payroll and accounting to auditing and benefits management.

Business Services also operates a number of Joint Power Authorities and Consortia, which combine the buying power of SJCOE with multiple local school districts to secure reduced rates for property insurance, workers’ compensation coverage, healthcare, legal services, and technology.

Job Summary

Under limited direction of management personnel, performs difficult and complex accounting and auditing duties. Provides assistance in the preparation and maintenance of budgets, financial reports and accounting records as well as independent judgment and problem solving skills to be fully exercised in relation to assigned areas of responsibility. Does related work as required.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years community college, trade or correspondence school, training in accounting procedures may be substituted by experience of a closely related nature.
