The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Administration Services has an opening for a Staff Services Manager II in the Business Operations Branch, Contracts Section. The position is located at 1001 I Street, 18th Floor, Sacramento, right in the heart of downtown next to light rail stations and other public transportation. Note: This position is hybrid telework with in office presence of 2 days a week.

Duties:

Under the supervision of the Staff Services Manager III and consistent with good customer service practices and the goals of the State and Regional Water Quality Control Boards Strategic Plan, the incumbent is expected to be courteous and provide prompt responses to internal and external customers, follow through on commitments, and to solicit and consider internal/external customer input when completing work assignments.

This position is responsible for the overall administration, management and supervision of the Contracts Section. This position acts as subject matter expert on the State’s FI$Cal system relating to contracts, business services, and procurement functions. Represents the Water Board before control agencies and meets with Water Board management during the negotiation and resolution of sensitive issues and complex problems. Formulates and recommends comprehensive policies and procedures regarding the handling of sensitive and critical contract and business operation issues.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
