Advertising Digital Services Manager and Senior Account Executive

Position Overview:

Rocky Mountain Student Media Corporation (“RMSMC”) is seeking a professional, full-time Digital Services Manager and Senior Account Executive to join our dynamic college student media organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all digital based ad sales and production, optimizing ad performance, and providing strategic guidance to student staff and clients to maximize revenue generation. In addition, the position requires direct sales to clients both for our digital and traditional media products. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

•            Student Advisory Role: Provide guidance and training to RMSMC’s 4 to 6 student digital strategists. Train and coach them on digital advertising trends, analytics, campaign reporting, best practices, and opportunities for career growth. This includes supervising staff, setting goals, leading weekly training sessions, and conducting staff performance reviews. 

            Digital Advertising Strategy: Develop and implement social media and other digital product strategies that maximize income and the return on investment for our clients. 

•            Ad Campaign Management: Plan, launch, and monitor digital ad campaigns across various platforms (e.g., Broadstreet, Google Ads, Meta, etc.) to ensure optimal performance.

•            Revenue Optimization: Continuously analyze ad performance metrics, such as click-through rates, reach, conversion rates, and revenue, to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to maximize ad revenue.

•            Audience Targeting: Use audience segmentation techniques and data analysis to target ads effectively and enhance ad relevance, engagement, and conversion rates.

•            Digital Ad Operations: Oversee ad operations, including ad placement, ad serving, and ad inventory management, to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of ads across digital platforms and websites.

•            Digital Ad Quality Assurance: Ensure that all digital ads meet quality standards and comply with relevant policies.

•            Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other team members and RMSMC departments to integrate advertising seamlessly into our digital platforms and campaigns.

•            Performance Reporting: Generate regular reports on ad performance, revenue trends, and key metrics to track progress and inform decision-making

 

Required Qualifications:

•            At least three years of experience in digital advertising management, preferably in a media or publishing environment.

•            In-depth knowledge of digital advertising platforms and tools, such as Google Ads, Meta Business Manager, Ad Manager, 

• Experience using project management and communication software (such as Monday.com, Slack, and Mailchimp or their equivalent).

•            Strong analytical skills and proficiency in interpreting ad performance data.

•            Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. 

•            Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

•            Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications, business, or a related field.

• Knowledge of programmatic advertising platforms, website based digital ad management software. 

•            Familiarity with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in digital advertising, including ad targeting, privacy regulations, and ad fraud prevention.

 

Salary, Benefits, and Work Hour Requirements:

This is a 40-hour a week position, with most hours in office. Overall expected salary: $45,000 to $60,000.  Base Range $35,000 to $45,000 (depending on experience.) The positon should reasonably expect an additional $10,000 to $15,000 in commissions. The position includes generous vacation and sick leave benefits as well as a 9% company retirement contributions (after a 3-year waiting period) and, if needed, 100% employer covered individual health and dental plan.

About Rocky Mountain Student Media:

As the college student voice of Colorado State University and the city of Fort Collins, Rocky Mountain Student Media Corp exists for two main purposes:

  • To give CSU students the opportunity to gain valuable on the job training to help them develop the skills to be successful in their post college careers;
  • To provide news, entertainment, and other content to the CSU and Fort Collins communities.

 

RMSMC houses six student-run media outlets: The Rocky Mountain Collegian, CSU’s daily newspaper and website; KCSU 90.5 FM radio station; CollegianTV; College Avenue Magazine; Tree Stump Films; and CSU Life, a monthly publication for faculty and staff. 

RMSMC also has seven other student led departments: Fifty03 Visuals, Marketing, Advertising, Creative Services, IT, Web Development, and the RMSMC Board of Directors. On average, there are 300 students working for or volunteering with RMSMC during the school year.
