Construction Cost Manager 2

Summary:
The main function of a Construction Cost Manager 2 is to supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers. This role will be focused on understanding the quantities of the data centers and establishing a book of benchmarks for negotiations when it comes to direct costs.  If you take a scope of work (concrete), must be able to quantify the amount of concrete, and negotiate how much we need from a general contractor’s perspective.

Typical task breakdown and rhythm – 60% is drawing/cost analysis and 40% is reporting out & lining out what the stakeholders are seeking.

Job Responsibilities:
• Develop tracking mechanism and control regarding cost metrics, inclusive of industry indices.
• Analyze project quantities, rates.
• Set and monitor standards to ensure benchmarks are in-line.
• Prepare and maintain reports.

Skills:
• Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing proposals.
• Knowledge of Construction trades (MasterFormat), including their units, rates, etc.
• Knowledge of Datacenter design, inclusive of reading and understanding project design documents and specifications.

Education/Experience:
• College graduate: BS in Construction Sciences, Management or Business Degree preferred.
• 2- 4 years' experience required. 

 

This position is hybrid, onsite 2 days a week and remote 3 days a week.
