We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tax Associate Advisor to join our team. This role will play a vital role in supporting our Certified Financial Planner (CFP) in delivering comprehensive tax planning services to our clients. The ideal candidate will combine tax expertise with a passion for client service, helping clients achieve tax-efficient strategies that align with their overall financial goals. Qualified candidates must hold a Series 65 certification and demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills, a strong ability to multi-task and a friendly demeanor.
Tax Associate Advisor duties
- Collaborate with the CFP and financial planning team to integrate tax strategies into clients’ financial plans.
- Conduct tax research and stay updated on changes in tax laws, regulations, and implications for our clients.
- Prepare tax projects, identify tax-saving opportunities, and assist in implementing strategies for our clients.
- Provide recommendations for tax-efficient retirement distributions, charitable giving, estate planning, and other financial strategies.
- Act as a point of contact for client inquiries related to tax planning and coordinate with external tax professionals when necessary.
- Support the CFP in client meetings by presenting tax-related insights and recommendations.
- Maintain and manage accurate records of client tax data and planning activities in the CRM.
- Use tax and financial planning software to streamline analysis and reporting.
- Master AssetBuilder’s best practices related to our client experience and processes.
- Assist with day-to-day operations as needed or requested, such as supporting administrative needs, assisting with client documents, preparing for client meetings, and participating in quarterly initiative projects.
Skills/Experience/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the areas of finance, accounting, economics, and/or related field.
- Experience in Tax experience planning, financial planning, or related field.
- Required certifications: Series 65. Preferred certifications: Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional (CPQP), Designation Certified Financial Planner® (CFP) designation, or other relevant financial designations.
- Knowledge of financial planning principles and familiarity with tax strategies for high-net worth individuals and small businesses.
- Proficiency in financial planning tools (e.g., Holistiplan, Income Lab, Orion Planning, MoneyGuide Pro)
- Must maintain a high level of integrity.
- Maintain the utmost discretion in working with sensitive and confidential information.
- Participation in Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), including exhibiting AssetBuilder’s Core Values
- Results-driven, highly motivated, self-starter eager to help others plan for and protect their financial futures.
- A team player with excellent interpersonal and communicational skills. Enjoys collaboration and helping others but can also work independently on projects.
- Strong attention to detail, accurately entering and reviewing client information in the CRM.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office programs.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills identifying issues and resolving problems in a timely manner exercising strategic thinking and mature judgement.
- Proven achievements in leadership, academics and extracurricular activities.
- Has a positive approach and demonstrates high professional standard when carrying out work.
