CMDA Management Internship Program

The Chrysler Minority Dealers Association (CMDA) would like to announce its 2025 CMDA Management Internship Program 

The CMDA Management Internship will provide students with a paid opportunity to gain first hand practical experience in what it is like to manage in a dealership environment and understand the world of ownership of an automotive retail business.

Program Goals 
The primary goal of our 8-week program is to solidify our interns’ understanding of practical automotive retail operations and more importantly, solidify the interns’ understanding of the facets of owning a dealership. 

Additionally, the other goal of this program is to pair ethnic minority students with one of our CMDA dealerships that is owned by an ethnic minority dealer principal.

This program will provide a mentoring opportunity that our interns can leverage and use to shape their thoughts about their future and the retail automotive sector. 

Internship Highlights 
Your summer internship will last for 8 weeks. During this internship, students will have the following dealership experiences:

• Shadowing of Dealership Management Team Members

• Inclusion / Participation in Dealership Management Team Meetings

• In- Depth Discussions with Dealership Business Managers & Controllers

• Inclusion / Participation in Ownership Discussions w/ Dealer Principals (where feasible)

• Inclusion / Participation in Management Discussions w/ Third Party Stakeholders

These experiences will provide our interns with a valuable experience as they continue to pursue their college level goals and their professional career aspirations.
 

Student Eligibility Criteria:
Must be a student of ethnic descent / heritage  (African American, Hispanic, Asian, Native American or Pacific Islander)

Must be a student at Northwood University (MI), University of Texas-Arlington (TX), or Florida A & M University

Must be enrolled as a Business Major or Automotive Marketing and Management at your university

Must have at least an overall grade point average of 3.0

Must have a strong interest in working in an automotive retail environment

Must be willing to relocate for the 8 week duration of this program (if necessary) 

Juniors, Seniors and Graduate Students preferred



Financial Stipend for Program
To ensure this experience causes minimal to no financial burden to our interns, the CMDA will be providing a generous $8,000 financial stipend during this summer opportunity.
