Structural Designer Intern (Summer 2025)

Our team of interdisciplinary engineers works collaboratively with clients to design buildings and processes that are on track for safety, performance, and sustainability.

Your Key Responsibilities

You are expected to understand and work according to the requirements of the Stantec Safety Culture and in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Stantec and its clients.

Perform modeling, drafting and structural design tasks for a wide variety of projects.

Complete project deliverables on budget and schedule.

Work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and project teams to produce quality design deliverables with the appropriate level of detail.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought

Basic understanding of Revit, and the use of it as a drafting/design tool

Practical experience and understanding of design tools such as AutoCAD and Revit, or similar platforms.

Competent in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

A strong sense of teamwork, especially in remote collaborative environments.

An openness to grasp and adapt to new software or design techniques.

A basic understanding of design concepts, with an emphasis on structural design.

Education and Experience

Graduate of Technical or College Course in Design/Drafting, or the ability to demonstrate sufficient knowledge received from previous experience in a similar position.

0 to 8 years of experience in engineering consulting or the construction industry.
