Aluminess designs, fabricates and welds bumpers, roof racks, and accessories for an ever-growing number of vehicles of various makes and models.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support creation and entry of bill of materials into company-wide ERP system to include material, labor, and supplier costs.
· Organize engineering models, drawings, and manufacturing documentation to standardize engineering procedures and to improve operational efficiencies. Make independent decisions on improvements to manufacturing and documentation processes as applicable.
· Design products using CAD and consult with marketing / manufacturing teammates to ensure designs are meeting necessary requirements.
· Conceptualize and create new products as needed and support all current product offerings by following the product development process workflow.
· Evaluate and improve current product offerings by applying knowledge of design, fabrication, and assembly techniques.
· Trouble shoot, provided process improvements, cost reductions, and plan projects to support company goals.
· Work with internal team members and external suppliers to accomplish proposed improvements.
· Assure compliance with engineering principles and quality standards.
· Provide solutions to technical problems.
· Evaluates and services equipment as needed.
Required Qualifications
· Education:
· Current pursuit of bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or the equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Experience:
· Must demonstrate genuine desire for the automotive industry
· Prior work experience and/or manufacturing experience is preferred.
Skills:
· Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
· Ability to prioritize and multitask
· Proactive self-starter; self-motivator; willing to do what it takes to get the job done
· Familiarity and proficiency in 3D modeling skills (SolidWorks) and must possess the ability to read / work with engineering drawings
· Must have strong computer skills, being able to work in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other databases
