Electrical Engineering Intern

 

 

Envision Technology, an innovative business providing advanced electro-optical solutions for defense and law enforcement applications, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for our 2025 Summer Internship Program. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the electrical hardware development, implementation, and debug/test of complex handheld, weapon-mounted and head borne electro-optical systems and subsystems, in addition to supporting production with various activities. The Internship Program is approximately three months long, spanning from the mid/end of May to the mid/end of August. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work within multidiscipline teams (Electrical, Software/Firmware, Mechanical Engineers, Business Development, Program Management, etc.) to assist with new/existing product design activities. 
  • Help to establish the overall electrical architecture for complex electro-optical systems including the selection of optimal components based on product requirements such as features, performance, cost, and power consumption.
  • Assist with the initial ‘bring up’ of electronic boards for new product prototype builds. 
  • Support the selection and evaluation of key system components such as imaging sensors, IMUs, and laser modules. 
  • Aid in the testing of new/existing products and/or subassemblies. 
  • Evaluate failure modes to determine root cause and determine the best course of action. 
  • Create associated documentation to assist in the procurement of PCAs, rigid/stiffened flexes, etc. (electrical schematics, fabrication drawings, board assembly drawings, etc.)

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering with an anticipated graduation year of 2025, 2026, or 2027 
  • Basic skills or familiarity with any of the following is a plus:
    • OrCAD schematic capture
    • Allegro PCB editor
    • Hands on experience with system integration, debug, and test
    • Basic soldering and test equipment use
    • Battery operated systems
    • EMI shielding techniques
    • Circuit simulation 
    • High speed data transmission
    • Analog and/or digital circuit design
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to interact with internal and external personnel.
