
Summer Intern
BBC Research & Consulting (BBC) is a Denver-based economic, market, and policy research firm that has conducted thousands of research projects for a wide range of public and private sector organizations across the country since our founding in 1970. We are currently seeking a qualified intern to join our team to contribute to our diversity and discrimination, economic, and market and customer research projects.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated intern to support our research and analysis efforts. This internship is ideal for graduate or advanced undergraduate students with an interest in qualitative research, econometric analysis, and inclusive program design. While prior experience in these areas is a plus, we strongly encourage applications from students who are eager to learn and develop new skills in a supportive environment. Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with our team of economists, researchers, and policy experts on projects related to economic development, discrimination analysis, business development policy, and business inclusion program analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with qualitative research and policy analysis, including literature reviews, in-depth interviews, and focus groups;
- Assist with data analysis, including data management and econometric modeling;
- Complete an intern project, which could include compiling and analyzing datasets for research and policy reports and drafting a memo, report, or presentation summarizing findings;
- Support the design and evaluation of inclusive economic programs; and
- Assist with other research and administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a graduate or undergraduate degree;
- Analytical and research skills, with interest in qualitative or quantitative methods;
- Experience with or willingness to learn and develop skills in analysis and data visualization tools (for example, NVivo, Access, Stata, R, Python, Excel);
- Understanding of relevant policy fields such as workforce development, financial inclusion, and equality;
- Interest in economic policy and inclusive economic policy design; and
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Foundational coursework in Economics, Public Policy, Political Science, Statistics, or a related social science field;
- Previous research or internship experience in economic policy, consulting, or related field; and
- Experience with policy evaluation methods, survey design, or impact assessment.
