Retail Sales Associate (FTW) Temp
Job Summary
To process the sales of Girl Scout merchandise while meeting the needs of girls, adult members, employed staff and visitors. To ensure the satisfaction of each customer while preserving the Girl Scout Mission. This position is based at the Fort Worth Corporate Office. Standard shop hours are Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and Saturday’s from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The shop may be open occasional evenings for special events. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide high quality customer service:
- Ensure and provide quality service to both internal and external customers.
- Enhance the organization’s reputation by providing a positive customer experience for all those contacted, either in person or by phone.
- Must be professional, respectful, enthusiastic, and polite to members, prospects, volunteers, community partners, coworkers, and others.
- Responsible for receiving, recording and reconciling daily cash and credit cards receipts to ensure correct financial accounting.
- Generates end of day reports.
- Supports the receiving, processing, and merchandising of products.
- Monitors inventory, proposes orders for restocking, and relay other merchandise needs to the Retail Experience Manager
- Works with the Retail Experience Manager to identify trends and to promote and stimulate the sale of merchandise while meeting the needs of Girl Scouts, caregivers, volunteers, and other visitors.
- Keeps the store inviting, full of product and clean by ensuring that stock levels are maintained neat and in an attractive manner in the merchandise units and assists with the day-to-day housekeeping maintenance of the Store.
- Educates customers on the Girl Scout Program Portfolio and its complimentary merchandise and the correct usage of uniform and insignia.
Support customer service functions:
- Work assigned schedule to open/close store during advertised hours for the Fort Worth Corporate Office and mobile pop-up locations.
- Ensure accurate processing of sales of transactions on cash register.
- Performs detailed monthly inventory spot counts for assigned merchandise.
- Assists with seasonal and annual inventories.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.
Support administrative functions:
- Provide back-up administrative support across all departments as needed which may include the production of written materials and reports (copying, assembling, etc.), filing, data entry (i.e., program evaluations, data cleaning queries), equipment check out, and front desk staffing, office supply stocking, and business machine management.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS - - Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to the mission and purpose of Girl Scouting.
- Must be willing to work with all persons without regard to race, religion, ethnic origin, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, age, or disability.
- Proven ability to work with staff, volunteers, third party vendors and other businesses.
- Available and willing to work an average of two (2) Saturdays per months and occasional evenings.
- Verbal fluency, good grammar, and professional appearance.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Retail Experience Manager.
- Must complete and pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a preferred but not required.
