After school Programming/Robotics Instructor (Los Angeles)

Whizara offers student-centered, highly engaging and interactive coding courses for K-12 students. The company is looking for enthusiastic instructors for its in-person classes in Los Angeles.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create a safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Be punctual, reliable and efficient to run an effective class.
  • Follow curriculum, set student's goals, motivate and guide students to provide an enjoyable learning experience.
  • Monitor student progress, advise students and provide feedback and support to students as required to meet student outcomes and course objectives.
  • Work effectively with students, teachers and parents to achieve course goals.
  • Provide feedback from classroom experience into curriculum development, instructional methods, objectives and philosophy.
  • Maintain an organized and clean classroom environment.
  • Work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Communicate via email and phone with us as needed.


 

Job Requirements

  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Programming or related field; other majors with background in coding and robotics are welcome to apply
  • Current associate or college students are encouraged to apply
  • Knowledge with one or more programming languages and robotics kits including Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, C/C++, Scratch; LEGO robotics, RaspberryPi/Arduino.
  • Previous teaching or tutoring experience of the K-12 age group is preferred.
  • Very comfortable with technology and using computers.
  • Must be able to work with children and remain friendly, calm, and patient at all times.
  • Must be able to work in a classroom environment alongside teachers and/or independently.
