Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for providing exceptional customer service? We’re seeking a Desk Examiner - Homeowners' Liability to join our team. In this role, you will manage homeowners' liability insurance claims from the initial contact to resolution, ensuring a seamless experience for insurers, insureds, and agents.

 

As a Claims Examiner, you will demonstrate a solid understanding of insurance principles while conducting thorough investigations and evaluating damages. Your ability to empathetically handle each claim will be key to creating a positive customer experience. You will be empowered to make independent decisions within your designated authority, ensuring prompt and cost-effective examination, investigation, evaluation, and payment of claims.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Conduct Investigations: Perform prompt and thorough investigations of claims from initial contact to resolution, including research, analysis, and synthesis of findings.
  • Provide Customer Service: Deliver exceptional service to Orion180 policyholders, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
  • Determine Coverage: Assess coverage and identify issues related to various claims by applying a comprehensive understanding of applicable insurance policies.
  • Collaborate with Management: Work closely with Claims Management to resolve coverage issues effectively.
  • Assess Subrogation Potential: Evaluate subrogation opportunities and recommend files to subrogation examiners when appropriate.
  • Negotiate Settlements: Engage in negotiations with insureds and third parties using an objective and fair approach to achieve settlements.
  • Investigate Liability: Investigate and determine liability concerning bodily injury and property damage claims.
  • Compose Correspondence: Write clear and professional correspondence to insureds, claimants, attorneys, agents, and regulatory agencies.
  • Document Activities: Meticulously document all claim file activity, including current strategies and plans of action.
  • Maintain Communication: Ensure effective communication with policyholders, field adjusters, and other parties to facilitate timely claims processing.
  • Review Reports: Assess adjuster reports and estimates for technical accuracy and compliance with industry guidelines.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Experience: 3-5 years specifically investigating and adjusting liability claims, including bodily injury, property damage, or third-party claims.
  • Licensing: Valid adjuster’s license or the ability to obtain the required state license.
  • Insurance Knowledge: Proficient in reading and interpreting insurance policies to assess coverage and claims.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals effectively.
  • Customer Service: A strong focus on customer experience, with proactive claim handling skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation and communication.
  • Certifications: Casualty Claim Law Specialist or Casualty Claim Law Associate
