CPA / Accountant – Business Consulting, Tax, Specialty Tax Services
Nelson & Company CPA, a full-service accounting, tax, and consulting firm is seeking a full-time business consulting, tax, and specialty tax services accountant / CPA. The firm brings over 30 years of experience from Big 10 and large regional accounting firms to deliver premier client service and innovative tax strategies.
Our comprehensive suite of services includes individual and business tax planning and compliance, IRS representation, and customized business consulting to address each client’s unique needs. We specialize in State and Local Tax (SALT), real estate and cost segregation, gross receipts tax, and federal and state credits and incentives, empowering clients to maximize cash flow and minimize tax burden.
Key Responsibilities

Develop a Book of Business
- Cultivate and retain a portfolio of clients, deepening engagement through trusted advisory services

Deliver Tax & Specialty Tax Services
- Prepare corporate, partnership, and individual returns; provide consulting on nexus, SALT, cost segregation, credits, and complex real estate matters

Exceed Client Expectations
- Uphold exceptional service standards, ensuring accuracy, responsiveness, and proactive communication
Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in good standing or CPA track candidate.
- 3+ years of public accounting experience, with demonstrated business-development success.
- Strong technical expertise in federal and state tax codes, including specialty areas (e.g., R&D credits, Real Estate, multistate issues).
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Pay & Incentives
- Performance-Based compensation targeting a full-year equivalent of $60,000–$150,000 in base compensation, depending on performance and experience
