This was my second time coming back but the experience was more surreal the second time then the first. I was able to meet new people and experience more. I even participated in a hackathon with 3 other people which we ended winning.
What I wish was different
The onboarding process and week was a bit slow and it took way to long for us to find out what our assignments were.
Advice
Always put your best foot forward and know when to ask for help.
Never get to bogged down by small things because they will only hinder your ability to stay productive.
Never be afraid to ask questions to clarify your understanding of something. Understanding things faster the first time is much more efficient then trying to understand it later down the road where you are stuck and can't explain your issue or what you are doing.

Loader
October 2016 • Chelmsford, MA
What I liked
What I like about UPS is that it's a highly active job, benefits, and opportunities to try out different specific jobs. It is also nice being a part of a union.
What I wish was different
Sometimes the hours can differentiate and while I'm doing school full time this can hurt my sleep schedule, but other than that I feel as if I've adjusted to the physical demands of the job.
Advice
It's not a bad place to work if you favor benefits. It can be physically demanding/exhausting, particularly in the summer and around Christmas. But it's worth thinking about.

F & A Intern
May - July 2019 • Coppell, TX
What I liked
The team was excellent! I was welcomed to the staff immediately. The team (Fixed Assets) also had an “open desk” policy, where you could ask anyone a question and anyone who could would help. Loved the teambuilding, the experience and the network I formed. Some of my daily/weekly duties were the same, but each day brought different challenged that helped shape me!
What I wish was different
I wish the other interns and I could have swapped places for a day or so, just to see what other teams were responsible for!
I also wish there would have been overtime for the interns, if only for a few hours. Company policy had us unable to work any overtime, but we could have been more helpful had we been allowed to!
Advice
Learning how to communicate effectively is a big deal! Like my job at UPS, many companies require a lot of joint effort between teams all over the country (or in my case, the world). Understanding that communication has to be fast, efficient and respectful is such a powerful tool to have in your belt for any job!

What I liked
What I liked about working at UPS was being right at the airport. I worked day shift so I got to spend many days watching different planes take off and land at SDF in Louisville, KY. I worked in the international area of UPS, and it was so interesting to see packages coming from all over the world to Louisville, KY.
What I wish was different
What I wish could have been different, was more work ethic from co-workers.
Advice
One piece of advice I would share about this experience is the job maybe hard mentally and physically but it's totally worth the paycheck at the end of the week!

Advice
Ask as many questions as you can and don’t be afraid to speak up! I learned so much more by asking to attend meetings and work alongside my peers.
